 +Antimorphic mutation: A mutation that, when combined with a wildtype allele (either as a merodiploid or as a diploid), the total amount of activity is less than wildtype. The implication is that the gene product produced by the antimorphic allele interferes with the function of the wildtype gene product. Also called a dominant negative allele.
